Let's put a smile on that face.

The Dark Knight was one of the most emotionally draining films I have ever seen.

You held you breath and covered your mouth in fear and anticipation of what was about to happen. You had no doubt that the joker would do it; you just weren't sure how much the director would show.

You jumped out of your seat in fear and surprise. Several times.

You moved to the edge of your seat watching with eyes wide open and heart pounding.

And the entire time you sat there watching one of the most brilliant performances ever by a man, you felt a growing stab in the heart because he was gone.

Bravo, Mr. Nolan. Bravo.

good omens: armageddon

I came out emotionally drained, too. Like, I was surprised how exhausted I was afterwards. I did the whole midnight thing and all, but I was just DRAINED, more than I was when I saw ROTK or Pirates.

I want to see this so bad, but, I can't take the younglings (WAAAAY TOO DARK), so I won't get to see it til it hits DVD.

It looks powerful though.

Oh, man...

Yeah, it had the same effect on me. I went to the midnight showing at the Arclight Hollywood and my brother and I were /DONE/ when the movie ended... like just emotionally /DONE/. We had to sit outside for a while and gather our thoughts before we could drive home.

I've never been so completely terrified by a character as I was by Heath Ledger's Joker. Absolutely brilliant, brilliant work. The role could easily have been turned into an overdone, tic-ridden caricature, but he captured every bit of the Joker's amoral nature -- his love for sadism and chaos apparent in every line and gesture.

Brilliant writing by Mr. Nolan and his brother. I have no idea how this got past the ratings board to score a PG-13 rating. It is EASILY "R" material. Have to see it again, hopefully on IMAX.

Quoted for awesome truth. I finally got to see it today and I was totally blown. My pulse was literally racing, like being on an honest-to-goodness roller coaster.
